A cellular tumor antigen p53 isoform 1 that has been sumoylated on a conserved Lys residue located within the regulatory C-terminal domain. While p53 sumoylation at Lys386 inhibits p300 mediated p53 acetylation (at Lys382 and Lys 373), p53 acetylation by p300 remains permissive for subsequent Lys386 sumoylation.
