A prostanoid receptor that is a translation product of the human TBXA2R gene or a 1:1 ortholog thereof. The preferred ligand is thromboxane A2. This receptor is found mainly in vascular smooth muscle, where it mediates vasoconstriction, in platelets, where it mediates aggregation, and in airway smooth muscle.
