| Definition |
A prostanoid receptor that is a translation product of the human PTGDR gene or a 1:1 ortholog thereof. The preferred ligand is prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). This receptor is found mainly in blood platelets, vascular smooth muscle, and nervous tissue. It is the least upiquitous of the prostanoid receptors, almost always occurring in association with other prostanoid receptor types.
